The Toronto Blue Jays joined the American League East Division in 1977 and are the only Canadian team presently playing in the MLB. They currently play at the Rogers Centre and their team colors are royal blue, navy blue, red and white. Their name comes from the Blue Jay, a bird common to Canada.
After a disappointing start for several seasons the Jays had their first taste of success in 1985 when they won their Division but lost the AL Championship Series to the Royals. This was the start of a productive decade for the team as after more Division wins they made their first World Series in 1992 beating the Atlanta Braves 4-2. The following year they repeated the feat against the Philadelphia Phillies by the same margin. Since then they have only won one American League Division Series in 2015, losing the ALCS. Fans are hoping for more success in the future, OK Blue Jays!
The San Francisco Giants were established in 1883 and are one of the most successful teams in Major League Baseball. They started life as the New York Gothams becoming the Giants in 1886. In 1958 they moved to San Francisco. They have played at Oracle Park since 2000 after moving from Candlestick Park and are in the National League West Division. Their colors are black, orange, metallic gold and cream.
The Giants have had many World Series appearances and won multiple times, their first in 1905. They won back-to-back world titles in 1921 and ‘22, their fourth in 1933, and their last title as the New York Giants was in 1954. After moving to San Francisco they struggled for five decades to win the World Series, losing in three finals. By 2010 they turned things around, however, winning three World Series in five years with comprehensive wins against the Rangers and Tigers and a narrow victory over the Royals.
