The Colorado Rockies are a young team having joined Major League Baseball as an expansion team in 1993. Their name comes from the famous Rocky Mountains. They currently play at Coors Field in the National League West Division and their colors are purple, black and silver.
In just their third season the Rox made it to the postseason as a Wild Card, meeting the Atlanta Braves in the NL Division Series which they ultimately lost. They had their best season in 2007. Again finishing second in the West Division they progressed as a Wild Card and overcame the Philadelphia Phillies 3-0 in the Division Series. Next they met the Arizona Diamondbacks in the Championship Series winning in straight games 4-0. In the World Series against the Boston Red Sox however they got steamrollered 4-0. In 2018 they got through once again as a Wild Card but lost the NLDS to the Brewers.
The San Francisco Giants were established in 1883 and are one of the most successful teams in Major League Baseball. They started life as the New York Gothams becoming the Giants in 1886. In 1958 they moved to San Francisco. They have played at Oracle Park since 2000 after moving from Candlestick Park and are in the National League West Division. Their colors are black, orange, metallic gold and cream.
The Giants have had many World Series appearances and won multiple times, their first in 1905. They won back-to-back world titles in 1921 and ‘22, their fourth in 1933, and their last title as the New York Giants was in 1954. After moving to San Francisco they struggled for five decades to win the World Series, losing in three finals. By 2010 they turned things around, however, winning three World Series in five years with comprehensive wins against the Rangers and Tigers and a narrow victory over the Royals.
